Live with the nature >Autumn

Now it is a good time to strengthen yourself. The summer time is over and the daily action should getting less. But in our modern time it is not as easy to follow the daoist wisdom. We have to follow the rhythm of the modern society for everything we got a timetable. Around our business or job we got only a little influence on our daily flow. The question is what we can do and how?, to follow the nature rhythm of the seasons.

First of all we have to understand the action of each season. By daoist philosophy the human body is the microcosmos and outside is the macrocosmos. We are always in exchange and the macrocosmos is like an energy resource for us if we following its nature. If we not following it means we using our potential and our Qi (vital energy) and get soon exhausted. The meaning of exhausted here is our immune system getting weak, we catch easily colds or other illnesses, we are not on our peak  performance what ever we do. Fighting the flow of the nature is one of the Qi stealer beside wrong diet. To follow the nature you must understand the nature first.

Now is autumn time and what is the action of it. If understand it its is easy to follow. First a list what you can see by yourself without any education.

Obvious:

  • crop
  • sap is retire (falling leaves)
  • getting colder and rainy
  • windy
  • shorter brightness

The action for you:

  • wearing correct clothes
  • earlier to bed (around 1h)
  • still standing up early
  • drinking from now on more warm drinks
  • go for a autumn walk

What you can´t see but what the sensitive ancient daoist master figure out by their meditation and energy work (Qi Gong).

Not obvious:

  • time of metal phase, structure/ hardness (Five phases cycle)
  • main time  of lung / large intestine (most energy)
  • Emotion> sorrow (autumn blues)

The action for you:

  • peaceful thoughts (against the hardness)
  • keep soul and mind together (breath/ lung stays calm)
  • don´t follow your desires to keep the lung pure
  • Qi Gong for Lung and Large Intestine

The one who do not follow the autumn laws will harm the lung system. He will get problems in digestion and will get diarrhea. He will not have enough power to keep the vital energy together in winter time.

Teacher or master of an energy or spirituell art, Part 2

It is of course no doubt about all arts has to crowth. It means some can add some new because of expirience in his art. Only master are able and should to do so. But many creaters or changer of an art do not have deep knowledge and expiriences. In my opinion and my expirience they do have only little or even no sprirituell and /or energetic expirience. They thinking (and this is the problem) better do like this or leave out that or call it now like anyhow but different. They do not understand that in an energetic or spirituell arts has nothing to do with  intellectual abilities and I mean real nothing.

After a short walking on a side- path (not the real path) these kind of people asking already how to get the title teacher or master or guru or what ever. And of course many schools or pseudo master are offering it like: “Get your master or teacher degree only in two years”, “Only 100 hours to master the art” a big cashflow industry, yeah. Special for the provider. The cashflow engine is droping down arts who are already thousands of years old like Yoga, Qi Gong, Taijiquan and is overflowing market with so called teachers or masters. Within decades arts who survived thousands of years because of a good marketing strategy the arts by itself becomes superficial. And…the people realy thinking (because of marketing brainwashed) they doing a real highlevel art. If you are looking deeper into the history so many masters sending away seekers. Why ? … they understood quite fast the seeker is not ready for the highlevel art and they don´t want to waste own time or the time of the seeker.

I would not say anything about the right of somebody to learn a part of an art. It is of course good to perform something what is good for so called fitness or fun. But then the offerer should not use the old terms of the art who are realy good for health, vitality and spirituality. Create new names, new games, new offerings but do not blame or shame thousands of year old arts.

But how to find now the real arts how to seperate good from bad or truth and lie?

Treating with food an old tradition in Chinese culture

About the importance of eating and cooking in Chinese culture you can read in “Huang Dii Nei Jing”, Yellow Emperor´s Inner Classic. There is a saying medicine and food share the same origin. Difference between food and medicine actually does not exist only the way when you gone take it makes its difference: “Taking when hungry it is food eating when suffering its medicine” If you are able to have a good balanced food it is like  you treat diseases before it arises. This is the main message of Sun Simiao a famous daoist healer in Chinese culture. Master Sun create the “Yangshen”  nurturing live where the dietetics plays a main rule beside herbal medicine and bodily energy exercises (Qi Gong). Sun Simiao is also the founder of the famous  Qi Gong “Five animal play” (Wu Qin Xi). Sun Simiao statement of medical intervention offers some general ideas and rules about the effects of vegetable, grains fruits and animals substances on the human body.

The reason for the presence of increased sickness in the body is always related to the excessive consumption of cold substances and by immoderate eating and drinking in the spring and summer. Furthermore, fish, minced fish, and malodorous and cold substances mostly harm a person. To stop taking them is of great benefit. Frequent consumption of milk, koumiss, and similar substances gives a person strength in the sinews, great courage, and a body glistening with health. But if eaten in excess, they can also cause upper abdominal distention and diarrhea and gradually cause damage.

If we can avoid harm, there is no need for toxic drugs or harsh interventions because disease will never break out in the first place. Of course you have to understand he meaning of five element food their action to come to reach the points like the advices are showing.

Winter as we know is normally cold time. Means the body has to start the internal heater means it needs more energy (Qi) to do the job of warming well. In my clinic this is the time patients with cold, influenza or infection of throat or ears coming now most. After interview it becomes quite clear why these people are catching easily the counted diseases. Most of them where not following the nature rhythm. Like the added list (Winter mistakes) in my blog before they doing more then half of it. Explanation like: “I read in a health magazine it is good to take fresh vitamins daily via fresh fruits, fruit juice or salad in specially in winter to avoid sickness ” and I always smilingly answering: “And way you are here now if its right what the so called health or fitness magazine is saying?” The few thousands year knowledge is proved from many critic but still existing and means it is tested from millions of humans. In the past they had no idea of vitamins or minerals but the sensitivity to be with the nature and follow the nature. The people of today are believing the magazines, newspaper and internet following the advices blind. They lost the ability to listen to actually need of their body. Qi Gong, meditation or yoga are good arts to get back to nature flow of sensitivity within our body. Of course you have to find high level teacher or master of the art for a good result. If you get more and more sensitive to your energy flow more and more your live will change even without any influence of external information. Listen and the answers will come by itself because of trained senses from your performed high level art. Trust yourself is becoming more and more a part of your live and you will less dependent of external information.

Few examples who are showing easily body energy reaction. Winter outside cold and you take also inside cold means the body has to work twice as hard to warm you or to keep you healthy. Its like an army who battle against to enemies in two direction. This wrong action of the most people during the winter season is by observing and experience the main factor to get sick in the cold season.

Shaolin Künste…

der Versuch die Shaolin Künste (Kung Fu, Chi Kung, Zen/Chan) mit anderen Kampfsportarten zu vergleichen scheitert ziemlich schnell. Na klar könnten die Techniken verglichen werden aber nicht das ganze Konzept, das dahinter steht. Schon das Wort “Kampfsport” hinkt denn darunter lässt sich das Shaolin mit seinen Künsten schon gar nicht einordnen. Ich persönlich bevorzuge eher das für mich passendere Wort “Kampfkunst”. Warum ?, da Sport etwas mit messen, sich messen, vergleichen, gewinnen, verlieren und Konkurrenz zu tun hat. Im Gegensatz das Shaolin das neben den körperlichen Übungen die energetischen, mentalen und spirituellen Seiten des Menschen entdecken, harmonisieren und stärken lässt.

Die Übungen des inneren Kung Fu führen einem zu dem Aufgezählten. Selbst in den einfach aussehenden Übungen dem Nei Kung zugeordneten “stehenden Säulen” (Zhang Zhuang) werden schon alle Aspekte des trainiert. Hier lernt der Shaolin praktizierende seine alten Muster abzulegen bzw. abzutrainieren. Die höchste Meisterschaft oder die Meisterschaft schlechthin ist erreicht wenn Formen, Partnerformen und im Freikampf den Shaolin nichtmehr aus seiner Mitte kommen lassen. Dies wird dann Meditation in Bewegung genannt. Dann kommt der Praktizierende dem Ziel nahe kein Spielball seiner Emotionen zu sein. Egal was im Alltag zu bewältigen ist von Privat bis Beruf er bleibt gleichmütig. Dies hat nichts mit gleichgültig zu tun, sondern ganz im Gegenteil, immer den gleich Mut mit offenen Herzen zu haben,egal in welcher Situation.
