Those who hear the Way are small sages; those who accomplish the Way are great sages.

„Mundane feelings and idle thoughts are all to be thrown away?“This totally goes against Zhuangzi who wrote that everything gathers in emptiness. He even had a story about an ugly, deformed, and daft man who wins the trust of all men. I don’t understand this quote and how it directly conflicts with the foundation of daoism.
