External enemies…

In Chinese medicine is a saying:

If your internal defense (Qi/vital energy )is strong and flowing no external enemy can strike you.

It sounds quite martial but its only a kind of view. And the so called not educated people in ancient China could understand its terminology easily.

External enemies:

  • Cold
  • Heat
  • Wind
  • Dryness
  • Dampness

These nature aspects of course not by it self enemies only if they can enter into your body. Then they can create so called blockages or in other words health problems. To prevent this it is necessary to keep our guard strong so these enemies can not enter the body. Several ways exist to keep the guard (defense Qi) strong. Here are some examples  from the classical wisdom of ancient china.

  • Live with nature rhythm
  • Exercises: Qi Gong / Chi Kung / Taijiquan
  • Food: 5 Element diet
  • Emotions: Keep them calm and balanced

Crane is symbolizing long life and immortality in Chinese culture.

Each of the listed ones has its own benefit but all the together they are a quite strong army against the so called external enemies. Each individual of them are to strengthen our defense Qi i.e. the guard. All together they build a strong army. This is the secret of a healthy life but the knowledge by itself not very helpful better start to bring it into your daily action. If you don´t you are the owner of death knowledge….

Autumn…part 2

After we understand to eat seasonal food and regional food to do something good for your health and vitality I should go deeper in giving you information about enhance your live with the daoist wisdom. Many or most of the knowledge in TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) were coming from the daoist ancestors who lived with their practical wisdom a long live span by comparison with ordinary people in that time. Observing the nature again and again, years after years, and from generation to generation it became a very solid practical theory. In a time when an ordinary person lived 35-45 years in average many daoist were reaching a age between 80 – 100 years and also over 100 years.

Following analogy for autumn:

Element: metal

  • Zang- Organ: lung
  • Fu- Organ: large intestine
  • Taste: hot
  • Emotion: sorrow
  • Color: white

If we take a look at the analogy we can see the lung got its power time. Means it is good if you have some lung problems or diseases to help the lung to strengthen or to recover. In my clinic the time is coming to do some special treatments for people with allergy, asthma or similar diseases. To strengthen the lung when the lung energy is the best means in autumn.

For people who like to avoid to catch cold or flu is autumn the best time to take care of the lung system. With correct diet.

Autumn time …

The hot period is over and the nature is changing quite observable. Even when the german summer this year was more all the time autumn like, hahaha. But this temperature sense is the only measure point for the most of us. There is lot of changing all the time and very big changes are happen when the seasons are starting to change. Even when the human can´t see or feel it. Why it is ? There is a so called macrocosmos and microcosmos. When macrocosmos is changing the microcosmos will do it similar. There is something like a energetic connection between or correct said there is no separation. In autumn the days becoming shorter and the night longer. Means less sun, less warm the nature is getting ready for the winter pause. The last seasonal fruits getting picked up apples, pears, grapes, berries or vegetable like pumpkin or mushrooms and nuts are having their time. It is very good to eat always the seasonal food for your health and energy. These fruits or vegetables are full of the energy we need now for this particular season.

The autumn time is well known for its fast changing. The wind can create fast moves of clouds sun and rain can exchange very fast. Problem for us what to wear what to eat. So all the vegetable or fruits of this season are helping us with their specific type of energy. So leave out know the summer fruits from other countries or at least take them only a little if you can´t resist. If you can do it I´m sure you will have no or at least less health problem no or even for the coming winter.
